Mary "Mae" Howard's Obituary

She leaves her son Chip, his wife Phoebe and grandchildren Cole and Beckett of Gainesville, FL; daughter Pam and grandchildren Matt and Lindsey of Watertown, MA; son Dave, his wife Sherri and grandchildren Samantha and Gracie Mae of Tampa, FL; son-in-law Ken Grip of Trinity, FL and grandchildren Tim and Steve, his wife Deanna and great-grandchildren Haylee and Landon. Mae’s loving daughter Robyn pre-deceased her in 2008. She also leaves her devoted sister Helene Mahan of Holden, MA, her husband Jim and their children Paul and his wife Kelly, Tom and his wife Pam and their son Andrew, David and his wife Christine and their children Matt and Emily. Mae also leaves many loving family members in the Worcester, MA area including her niece Marie and her husband Allen, their children Jessica and Kate; her nephew John and his wife Nadia and their children Bill and Tom.
Mae was born and raised in Central Massachusetts where she met and married Bob, the love of her life, who died in 2008. Together they moved to Florida to be closer to their children, settling in the Palm Harbor area where they had many wonderful friends.
Family and friends were at the center of Mae’s life. She had a gift for caring and friendship, greeting everyone she knew with a big hug or caring touch. No matter how far away she was, she kept in touch with the people who were important in her life.
At gatherings of family and friends, her sparkle lit up the room. She will be greatly missed, but never forgotten…
The family requests that donations be sent to support the loving and caring staff at Haven Hospice: 4200 NW 90th Blvd, Gainesville, FL 32606 or www.havenhospice.org. A celebration of Mae’s life will be held in February in Cedar Key, FL.
