Mary Evelyn Pape Gallingane's Obituary
Mary Evelyn Pape Gallingane, 75, longtime resident of Daytona Beach, Florida, died Thursday, December 08, 2016, in the Hunters Crossing Assisted Living Facility, Gainesville, Florida, following a long illness.
Ms. Gallingane was a native of Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania, born on April 2, 1941 to the late Michael Francis and Mary Evelyn Pape. She lived in Pennsylvania for many years before moving to Daytona Beach in 1981. Ms. Gallingane worked in many area nursing homes. She was an active member of the Prince of Peace Catholic community. She enjoyed football and NASCAR, collecting angels, but most of all, spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by one daughter, Monique (Tom) Jennings, Denver, NC; a son, Robert (Caitie) Gallingane, of Gainesville, FL; a brother, Mike (Barb) Pape, of Punxsutawney, PA; a sister, Fran Pape, also of Punxsutawney, PA; and a brother, Carl Pape, of Pennsylvania; six grandchildren, Michael, Ashley, Christopher and Natalie Jennings and Danielle and RJ Gallingane.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at 9:30 A. M., in the Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 10900 SW 24th avenue, Gainesville, FL, with Fr. Jeff McGowan, celebrant. In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to Haven Hospice, 4200 NW 90th Blvd., Gainesville, FL 32606, or to Halifax Health Hospice, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, FL 32129.
