Dr. Mary Ellen Grasso's Obituary
Dr. Mary Ellen Grasso, age 91 of Gainesville, FL, passed away Saturday, October 6, 2018. She was born September 3, 1927, in Arnold, PA, to Steve and Grace Puglisi Cipolla.
Dr. Grasso was an educator for 49 years, and she retired as Department Head of English for Broward College in 1998. She was also a published author. She was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church, the Halo Hatters, and the Joy Ladies.
She is survived by her children, Stephen Grasso (Lisa) and Susan Swails (Joe); brother, Robert Cipolla; four grandchildren, Brenton Lott, Kyle Grasso, Ford Swails, and Tucker Swails; three great grandchildren, Abygale Lott, Lyla Lott, and Gianna Grasso.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Orazio Grasso; brothers, Buddy Cipolla and Ronald Cipolla; and sister, Connie Goggio.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, October 20, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 10900 SW 24th Ave. with Fr. Al Esposito as celebrant.
