Mary Jane Rush Bland's Obituary
Mary Jane Rush Bland, 76, died Wednesday, October 31, 2018 in the E. T. York Hospice Care Center, Gainesville, following a brief illness.
Mrs. Bland was a native and lifelong resident of Lochloosa, Florida, daughter of the late Willie and Bertie Mae Rush, born on December 11, 1941. She worked as a paralegal for several law firms until her retirement. Mrs. Bland loved her family and the woods she grew up in. She enjoyed spending time gardening and reading. She was preceded in death by her husband, Burl Bland; her daughter, Londa Harrell; her brothers, George Rush, William Rush, Lowell Rush and Thomas Rush, her sisters, Bertha Cochran, Velma Powell and Martha Ann McLeod.
Survivors include her granddaughters, Monica Evans and Katrina Cassels; great grandchildren, Darien Evans, Christian Ferraro, Austen Cassels, and Ayden Cassels; sisters, Louise Selph, Anna Aldridge and Carrie Long.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at 11:00 A. M., in the Lochloosa United Methodist Church, 16503 SE 210th Terrace, Hawthorne, with Rev. Paul Smith, officiating. Interment will follow in Antioch Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, November 9, 2018 from 5 to 7 P. M., at the Williams-Thomas Funeral Home Hawthorne, 301 South at Lake Avenue.
