Mary Belle Parks Smith's Obituary
Mary Belle Parks Smith, 88, passed away peacefully at home on December 20, 2015.
She was born April 12, 1927 in Pleasant Lake, Indiana.
She moved to Orlando in 1945 to attend Orange Memorial Hospital Nursing School. After graduation, she married Nelson Smith. In 1963, they moved to Gainesville and became Florida Gator fans for life. Mary Belle retired from UF/Shands Clinics. After Nelsons death in 1996, she moved to Alachua.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Gainesville.
She is survived by 2 sons, Joseph (Michelle) and Christopher; 1 grandson, 3 granddaughters, 3 great grandsons, 2 great granddaughters and a great grandchild due any day.
She was preceded in death by her husband Nelson and her son, David.
Services will be held Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel of WILLIAMS-THOMAS FUNERAL HOME DOWNTOWN, 404 North Main Street, with Rev. Kevin Johnson officiating. Interment will be at 3:00 p.m. in Highland Memory Gardens, 3329 East Semoran Blvd. Apopka, FL. The family will receive friends Tuesday, December 22, 2015 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
