It has been many years since I first met this sweet loving women. She always had a smile on her face and her checks were the color of her hair with that beautiful rosy red color. As just a young teenager I met her and I remember one thing so very clear she absolutely loved BLEACH. She believed in it as much as she believed in taking a shower. I just thank GOD for the opportunity to have the chance for her to touch my life. She is loved and will forever be missed.
I remember when I went to live with Aunt Sis, Bubba and I stayed in trouble. One day we road the school bus home and we weren't suppose to. She was so mad and I tried to blame Bubba but she wasn't having that. Needless to say, we got our tails tore up. She treated me like one of her own and for that I will forever be grateful. I took her stern up bringing and instilled that in the way I raised my own children. I LOVE YOU SO MUCH AND YOU WILL TRULY BE MISSED!!! Love your niece, Tina

I bet it's so nice up in heaven since you've arrived. I hope your dancing in the sky, and I hope your singing in the angels choir. Cause here on earth everything's different since you left! I hope the angels know what they've got!! You have left a beautiful legacy here on earth! Beautiful kids, grand kids, a wonderful husband! Sweet siblings, nieces, nephews! Your memory will forever be etched in our hearts! Your pain is gone there for your memory will live on!! I love you Aunt Sis!! Peace be still!!
Fairbanks is a small community but seemed even smaller growing up there in the 70's. Most everyone knew everyone else, but I remember a BEAUTIFUL fiery redhead from there and her name was Marvena. She had a presence that could not be missed and was a wonderful friend to me and my family.
From the very first time I saw her sing "I'm Gettin' Ready" at the lil white church I was in awe of her and fell madly in love with her and her family. I am reminded of the old church song "Father Abraham had many sons", he had nothing on Marvena she had countless children and was a mother to all who needed one. I could not feel more fortunate and blessed to have been one of those children.
In the early 80's at a rough spot in my life Johnny and Marvena took me in to their home, and loved me and treated me like one of their own. She got me a job at the Diner and enrolled me in school. Marvena was a complex package of Strength, Love, Pride, Compassion, Beauty and Disicipline. All of which I desperately needed at that point in my life. She taught me so much, and on a lighter note, she taught me that bleach can be used in many ways.
Marvena's face and eyes told you all you needed to know about how she felt. The loving look she could give that warmed your soul and made you smile. And then there was the other look where she curled her tounge, when you saw that one you knew you where in trouble.
I have an amazing life and could not ask for anything more or be any happier. I know in my heart if it had not been for Marvena and a couple of others who cared enough to love , nuture and teach by exapmple my life would not have turned out so great. I will never forget what she did for me and she will live forever in my mind and heart.
