Martha Ellen Philpot Huffman's Obituary
Martha Ellen Philpot Huffman, 96, of Louisville, Kentucky passed away July 12, 2014. She was born to the late J.C. and Rosa Philpot, on March 22, 1918, in East Bernstadt, Kentucky. She married the late John Emanuel Huffman, Jr. in 1948, and they lived together in Louisville, Kentucky for 53 years. Martha was a homemaker who enjoyed reading, crocheting, sewing and music. She was very involved in and attended Parkwood Baptist Church. For her last 10 years, she resided at Rose Court in the Village located in Gainesville, Florida close to her daughter.
She was preceded in death by her late husband John Emanual Huffman, Jr., her seven siblings, and is survived by her 2 children, John M. Huffman and his wife, Peggy A. Payne Huffman of Rock Hill, SC and Karen L. Huffman Thomas and her husband Gary L. Thomas of Alachua, FL., 4 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
Burial will be in Louisville Memorial Gardens on Thursday July 17, 2014.
