Marshall Duane Roberson Sr.'s Obituary
Marshall Duane Roberson, Sr., 66, longtime resident of Hawthorne, Florida, died Friday, January 13, 2017, in the Roberts Care Center, following a long illness.
Mr. Roberson was born on January 18, 1950 in Palatka, Florida, to the late William Dewitt and Edna Roberson. He worked for over 38 years for Clay Electric Co-op, retiring as a line crew foreman. He was a longtime member of Cracker Boys Hunt Club.
He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Ava Griffin Roberson; three daughters, Lora Ingle, Teresa (Robert) Matthews, and Nicki Shields; three sons, Duane (Marcie) Roberson, Jr., Tyler Roberson and Travis Roberson; three brothers, William Dewitt (Peggy) Roberson, Dale (Jean) Roberson and Buster (Gamble) Roberson; a sister, Hazel Blankenship; and two grandchildren.
Graveside funeral services will be held on Monday, January 16, 2017 at 2:00 P. M., in the Eliam Cemetery, Melrose. The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 15, 2017 from 3 to 5 P. M., at the Williams-Thomas Funeral Home Hawthorne, 301 South at Lake Avenue, Hawthorne. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Haven Hospice, 6400 St. Johns Avenue, Palatka, FL 32177.
