Marshall "Marty" Bennett Crosby's Obituary
Marshall “Marty” Bennett Crosby of Gainesville, went home to be with the Lord, April 17, 2017 at Shands UF Hospital, Gainesville. Marty was born in Starke, Florida to Floyd R. Crosby, Sr. and Teresa Bennett Crosby. He graduated from Bradford County High School. Marty proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was a retiree from General Electric. Marty most enjoyed his family. He loved cookouts, fishing and playing softball with his family and friends. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church and all the activities of Grace.
Marty is survived by his wife, Linda Bass Crosby; sons, Darrin (Amy) Crosby of Valrico, FL and Jason (Malinda) Crosby of Okeechobee, FL; brother, Floyd R. (Judy) Crosby, Jr. of Lady Lake, FL and granddaughters, Abigail and Anna Lee. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Wanda Crews, Mary Alice Stanley and Anna Ruth Johnson.
The family wishes to thank the faculty and staff of CICU 2nd floor of Shands at UF Hospital, for their wonderful care and loving services. We would also like to mention Dr. Gregory Geiger, Dr. George Arnaoutakis, Dr. Michael Dillion and Dr. Art Lee, and Dr. Jorge Tantravahi and staff at DCI. Thank you all so much for taking care of our Marty.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, April 22, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Grace Baptist Church, 7100 NW 39th Avenue, with Pastor Jim Riley officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Central. The family will receive friends Friday, April 21, 2017 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at WILLIAMS-THOMAS FUNERAL HOME DOWNTOWN, 404 North Main Street. If you would like, in lieu of flowers, make memorial contributions to Grace Baptist Church (building fund), or a charity of your choice (in memory of Marty).
