Marsh Arthur Nesmith, age 85, passed away peacefully October 16th 2018 at home surrounded by his loving family after a long battle with cancer. Art was born at home March 1, 1933 in Springhead, Florida to Marsh and Pearl Nesmith. Read Obituary
My sincerest condolences to Dr Nesmith’s family and friends. Having read his obituary this morning in our local Sanford, FL newspaper I was so touched by his life story. The words seemed to so eloquently describe a life well lived, full of love from family and friends. There can be no greater honor to be remembered in such a special way. He no doubt touched so many people in such a special way. Thank you for sharing his memory.

Dr. Nesmith was the quintessential calm, kind, gentle surgeon who gave perfect care to his patients. Always sweet and kind, I'll never forget the day he comforted me with just a few quiet words in the middle of an emergency surgery when I was overcome with emotion. And man!, was he a handsome feller!

It was a great honor for me to work with Art for many years while I was CEO at North Florida. As both a leader on the medical staff and as a board member, he consistently provided thoughtful insight, counsel, and good judgement. North Florida is the great facility it is today in large part due to his guidance during a period of significant growth and change. My kindest regards to Carolyn and the entire family.

We sooooo loved this family!!! Uncle Art, Aunt Carolyn and 5 beautiful children lived just 2 doors down in Sanford. We were all Family!!! Not blood, but heart felt family. Family just the same!!! Beautiful Aunt Carolyn, a Plant City Beauty Queen, and Uncle Art loved all of us. I would baby sit these wonderful kids. (Yes you were kids at one time) They were the heart of our neighborhood, until Uncle Art left because of the Vietnam War.
They were a model family. So much Love!!! We, the Morrison Family of Sanford, will always love and miss Uncle Art. God continue to Bless this wonderful Family!!!
