Mark A. Leopold's Obituary
Mark A. Leopold, age 68 of Gainesville, FL passed away Friday, January 16, 2015. He was born November 1, 1946 in Miami, FL to Paul and Joann Cohen Leopold. He was the oldest of four sons.
Mark was a successful radio manager in New York, Tallahassee, El Paso, Baton Rouge, Myrtle Beach, Miami and Gainesville. He worked for a year for the Children’s Miracle Network. He was passionate about his family, friends, radio and sports. Those who knew him will remember him as someone who could always charm you with a smile and was always quick with a joke.
He is survived by his wife, Jodie Frankel Leopold; son, Ryan Michael Leopold, who is currently studying at FSU; mother, Joann Cohen Leopold; brothers, Tommy, Andy and Ted.
A graveside service will be held today, January 18, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in B’nai Israel Cemetery with Rabbi David Kaiman officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the following children's organization in light of Marks' desire to volunteer with children suffering from cancer: Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, http://childrensmiraclenetworkhospitals.org/Hospital/ShandsHospital or St. Jude's Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
