Mark Dennis Genovar's Obituary
Mark Dennis Genovar, age 59 of Gainesville, passed away Sunday, January 18, 2015 at the E.T. York Care Center. He was born August 30, 1955 in Gainesville. Mark worked as a claim investigator for Florida Power and Light. Mark was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed boating, hunting, fishing, the river, the beach and the mountains. He was a lifelong Gator fan. Mark was a member of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).
Mark was preceded in death by his father, William F. Genovar. He is survived by his mother, Rosa Lee Thomas Genovar; daughter, Sara Genovar Armstrong (Chris); longtime devoted love, Susan Thompson and her son, Dylan; sister, Nancy Genovar Clayton (Howard) and nephews, Joseph Lenz (Alison) and Daniel Clayton.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, January 22, 2015 at 11:00 a.m., in New Hope Primitive Baptist Church, LaCrosse, with Pastor Thad Marshall officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday, January 21, 2015, 6:00 to 7:30 p.m., at WILLIAMS-THOMAS FUNERAL HOME DOWNTOWN in Gainesville, 404 North Main Street. Memorials may be made to Haven Hospice, 4200 NW 90th Blvd., Gainesville, FL 32606.
