Mark Julian Berlin's Obituary
Mark Julian Berlin, age 77, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, in Gainesville, Florida. He was born on August 31, 1945, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Philip and Frances Plotkin Berlin.
He proudly served in the United States Airforce for 26 years. During his last few years in the military, he earned his B.S. degree in Human Resources.
Mark was one of the founding members of Crestview Area Recreation Association, and was the first Soccer Commissioner in Florida.
He was a loyal Gator Fan and enjoyed his Jim Beam. He and his wife Janice enjoyed cruising.
Mark was a crossing guard after retirement in Newberry, Florida.
Mark is survived by his loving wife of 53 years Janice M. Berlin, children; Max Berlin (Gloria), and Tamara Berlin-Imperato (Gene), sisters; Ilene Kuebler, and Linda Berlin, twin brother; Jeffrey Berlin, nine grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; his beloved dogs Ari and Zev.
He is preceded in death by his brother, Michael Berlin.
A celebration of Mark’s life will be held on Friday, June 23, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Williams Thomas Funeral Home Westarea 823 N.W. 143rd Street Newberry, Fl. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your favorite charity in Mark’s memory.
