Marjorie Ellen Stanley's Obituary
Marjorie Ellen Stanley, 94, longtime resident of Gainesville, Florida, died Thursday, January 5, 2017 in the North Florida Regional Medical Center, following a long illness.
Mrs. Stanley was born on July 23, 1922 in Barringer, North Carolina to the late Robert and Lola May Deal Christie. She lived in Gainesville for over 50 years, working in the Cantina of the Gainesville V. A. Medical Center, until her retirement. Marjorie, along with her late husband, Albert Stanley were foster parents. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.
She is survived by three daughters, Deborah Brucker, Elizabeth Morrow and Catherine Pakdel; and by two sons, Donald Stanley and Jack Stanley. Ten grandchildren also survive.
Graveside funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at 11:00 A. M., in Memorial Park West cemetery. The family will receive friends for one hour prior, beginning at 10:00 A. M., at WILLIAMS-THOMAS FUNERAL HOME WESTAREA, 823 NW 143rd St. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Florida Baptist Children’s Homes, 3700 NW 91st St., Suite B-300, Gainesville, FL 32606.
