Marjorie Jean Reddick's Obituary
Marjorie Jean Reddick, née Dormeyer passed away peacefully in her Micanopy home surrounded by family on May 17th, 2025. She was ninety-one. Marjorie was born in Fulton, New York on November 18th, 1933. Following her graduation and work for Sealright Co. in Fulton, Marjorie married Erwin K. Reddick on September 15, 1956. They had 5 children. Marjorie and Erwin moved to Florida in 1966, initially settling in Fellowship and operating Hurricane Fence company. Later, they took over the Hardware Store in McIntosh. Relocating to Micanopy in 1972, they built their home and Reddick’s Bird and Animal Farm, and opened E. Reddick and Sons Hardware store in its current location on US HWY 441 in Micanopy.
Marjorie was the unassuming, unasking center of our family, nearly all holiday and birthday celebrations took place in her home, and we were all privileged to spend her final weeks here with her and each other.
Marjorie is survived by her sons: Erwin “Ernie” A. Reddick, Kenneth G. Reddick (Erica), Kevin W. Reddick (Lesley), daughter: Robin J. Grill (Steve), twelve grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of over 56 years Erwin K. Reddick, daughter Faith Ann Jacob, brother Theodore “Ted” Dormeyer, and sister Lucy Lieber.
A Memorial Celebration for Marjorie will be held at the Micanopy United Methodist Church at 201 NW Seminary Ave, Micanopy FL on Saturday, May 31st at 1 o’clock in the afternoon. Reception to follow.
Marjorie requested that donations be made to the Micanopy United Methodist Church in lieu of flowers.
