Marilyn Robbins Golden's Obituary
Marilyn Robbins Golden, age 74, of Gainesville, passed away Saturday, August 13, 2016 at her home. She was a hairstylist for many years after her graduation from GHS in 1960. She then worked in the food service industry until her retirement from her daughter and son-in-law's restaurant, Fast Eddie's on Hawthorne Rd.
She most enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren and great grands, and was a much-loved mom, sister and "Granny". Marilyn was an avid Elvis fan, and his music was a staple in most of her days. She was a member of The Light Church of Gainesville.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Wilma Robbins, of Gainesville. She is survived by her two children, Julie Brower Borsos (Sam), and David Brower; her sisters, Sandra Burrows, Becki Zeenberg (Bob) and Ruth Robbins; three grandchildren, Amber Rodriguez, Kim Folken, Traci Eiland, and four great grandchildren, along with many loving nieces and nephews, all of Gainesville.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Brandon Bodlak for his many years of wonderful care
throughout her journey, and the wonderful staff of Haven Hospice for their assistance in her final days.
A Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of WILLIAMS-THOMAS FUNERAL HOME DOWNTOWN, 404 N Main Street, with Pastor Cleve Robinson officiating, with a gathering at her daughter's home following the service. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home starting at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
