Marie Alice Rochette Yoder's Obituary
Marie Alice Rochette Yoder, 90, longtime resident of Gainesville, Florida, died Monday, December 3, 2018, at the North Florida Regional Medical Center, following a long illness.
Mrs. Yoder was born in Lowell, Massachusetts on December 19, 1927 to the late Leon and Laurette Rochette. As a young girl, she moved with her family to Garden City, Michigan, where she grew up, graduated high school, and lived for many years. Mrs. Yoder was a longtime employee of Bear Archery, relocating from Michigan when the company moved their headquarters to Gainesville, Florida in 1978. She retired in the early 1990’s. She was of the Catholic faith, and attended Queen of Peace Catholic Church, in Gainesville. Mrs. Yoder enjoyed listening to music and solving word puzzles, and was preceded in death by her husband Mr. Robert E. Yoder in 1993.
She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Marie Latuszek, of Ocala; two sons, Brian Louis Rochette and George Leon Rochette, both of Gainesville; two sisters, Rita DiVitto and Irene Sinnott; two brothers, Leo Rochette and Dennis Rochette; four grandchildren and six great grandchildren also survive.
A memorial service to honor Mrs. Yoder’s life will be held on Friday, December 14, 2018 at 11:00 A M., in the Chapel of Williams-Thomas Funeral Home Downtown, 404 North Main Street, Gainesville. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, you would consider donations in her name to the charity of your choice.
