Marie "Marlis" Luise Perry's Obituary
Marie “Marlis” Luise Perry, the youngest of three siblings, was born to Joseph and Elisabeth Ganasinski on October 8, 1934, in Kassel, Germany. She quietly and peacefully committed her soul to her Eternal Father on April 11, 2015, at 4:24 A.M. at the E.T. York Hospice Care Center in Gainesville, Florida.
After graduating from German Primary School and attending technical school, she married Charles R. Perry in 1958. She gained permanent U.S. citizenship at Ft. Devens, Massachusetts in September of 1963 and was a United States Army wife until 1971. Her family then moved to Gainesville, Florida where she worked for the Suniland Training Center (Tacachale) as a Shift Supervisor for the next twenty-five years, retiring in 1999.
She leaves to mourn in her passing four children; Rickie (Aunnana), Dorothee, Debbie and Vincent; one brother, Walter; one brother-in-law, Legrand (Barbara); three sisters-in-law, Inge, Pearl (Creswell), and Doris; six grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many special friends.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at 11:00 a.m., in Greater Bethel AME Church, 701 SE 43rd Street, with Pastor Karl V. Smith officiating. The cortege will assemble at Mrs. Perry’s home at 701 NE 18th Street, at 10:00. Interment will follow in Memorial Park East. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 14, 2015 from 5 to 7 P.
