Marian A. Rosenberger's Obituary
Marian A. Rosenberger went home to be with the Lord on Monday, February 19, 2018. She was 92 and a lifelong resident of the Gainesville area. The youngest of 9, she was born in Ocala, Florida to John Lacy and Stella Alvarez in 1925 where she grew up and attended high school. She eventually came to Gainesville to attend Alachua General Hospital’s School of Nursing and graduated as a Registered Nurse in 1948. Her nursing career spanned several decades in doctor’s offices, private duty, Camp Crystal and Lake Yale camps and ending back at Alachua General as Nursing Supervisor. While training in nursing, she met the love of her life, Stanley Rosenberger, and married him in 1951. They were happily married for 64 years, before Stan’s passing several years ago.
Marian was very generous to others in her time, energy and resources whether she knew you or not. She was always fun, loved to laugh, and could brighten the day with her kind words and deeds. She was a wonderful and loving wife, mother and grandmother to her family and will be greatly missed.
Marian leaves behind 2 daughters, Carol (Trevor) Elmquist and Jeanie (Rick) Ginn, 4 grandchildren, Eric Elmquist, Summer Strawbridge, Lacy Lawrence, Lane Craig, and 11 great-grandchildren, who lovingly called her Boom-Boom.
Services will be held Friday, March 2, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of WILLIAMS-THOMAS FUNERAL HOME WESTAREA, 823 NW 143rd Street, with Pastor Gary Crawford officiating.
