Mari Elaine Werther's Obituary
Werther, Mari Elaine (Honer), age 54, of Gainesville, FL passed away peacefully Friday, June 1, 2018 at the UF Health Shands Hospital in Gainesville, FL from an extended illness. She was born in Madison, WI April 24, 1964 to James and Virginia (Cleary) Honer. She was married to Bill Werther January 9, 1993
Mari graduated from Buchholz High School, Gainesville in 1982. She was a member of the band, the National Honor Society and the Spanish Honor Society. She also attended Santa Fe College. She was employed at various times as a dental asst./office manager, bookkeeper and tax preparer. Her most enjoyable times were those spent with her children and their activities, playing the piano and enjoying nature with her many friends.
Mari is survived by daughter, Chase, and son, Hunter, of Gainesville, the father of her children, Bill Werther, of Tampa, FL, parents Jim & Ginny Honer, Madison WI and brother, Mark Honer, Lincoln, NE as well as many relatives and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, July 15, 2018 at 3:00 p.m., with a reception to follow until 6:00 p.m., at Williams-Thomas Funeral Home Downtown, 404 N Main Street.
The family wishes to thank the entire staff of the M-ICU of the UF Health Shands Hospital for the compassionate care of Mari during her over four week ordeal.
