Margaret Frances Tinsley Voorhees' Obituary
Margaret Frances Tinsley Voorhees, 99, of Orlando, passed away on November 13, 2017 in Gainesville, Florida.
She was born February 2, 1918 in Pelham, Georgia to Clifford and Lacie Tinsley, the sixth of eight children.
She married Charles Logan Voorhees; they had a daughter, a son and three stepsons.
Margaret worked as a bookkeeper for the National Linen Company, for her stepson’s gas station, and at Disney World’s International Village from which she retired. She enjoyed listening to classical music, gardening, and reading the Bible.
She is survived by her sister Doris T. Gelm of Maitland, Fl, her daughter Marlie Voorhees Taylor and husband LTC (Retired) John R. Taylor of Gainesville, FL and her son Charles Francis Voorhees and wife Terry Provost Voorhees of Plattsburgh, NY; grandchildren Joelle T. Ruppert (Michael), Carey V. Ditton (Brian), Jessamy R. Taylor (Donald), Charles F. Voorhees II (Jessica), Dr. John R. Taylor III (Kristin), Courtney Voorhees; 12 great-grandchildren, and 12 step great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, brothers Leon, Hollis and Bill, sisters Grace, Milly and Virginia, and stepsons Bert, Logan and Carroll.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at 3pm at Glen Haven Memorial Park in Winter Park.
