Margaret Jane Foust's Obituary
Margaret Neafsey Foust of Gainesville died April 7, 2015 at the age of 87. Peg was born in Elizabeth, New Jersey to Margaret Paulmann Neafsey and William Patrick Neafsey. She graduated from Rutgers University and held a M.A. degree in Early Childhood Education from Kean College, New Jersey.
She moved to Gainesville in 1970 with her husband, the late Charles W. Foust, to whom she was married for more than fifty years. Her oldest son, Brian, preceded her in death.
She is survived by a great grandchild, Brooklyn; seven grandchildren, Josiah, Kelsey (Kevin), Cody, Cray, Bonnie, Lucy, and Charlie; two daughters, Lisa (Shelley) Foust of Tucson, Arizona and Amy Foust-Winfrey of Gainesville; a daughter-in-law, Carole Foust of Gainesville; two sons, Peter (Maggie) Foust of Yachats, Oregon and Thomas (Donna) Foust of Gainesville; and a nephew, Allen Foust of Ocala.
Peg was the director of the Millhopper Cooperative Child Care Center; she helped establish and taught the Child Development Associate Program for child care teachers at Santa Fe Community College and was the Administrator of Child Care Resources.
Friends and family are welcome to gather and celebrate her life on Saturday, April 18, 2015 from 2-4 p.m. at 1927 NW 7th Lane. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor her memory with donations to Haven Hospice, 4200 NW 90th Blvd., Gainesville, FL 32606.
