I celebrate the life and honor the memory of my mother. To explain just how much my mother means to me is a daunting task. My mother was one of the strongest, bravest, and kindest humans. Without her, I wouldn't be here today, I wouldn't be the person I am, and I wouldn't have the life I have. She is everything to me, and more, and there's no way I could ever quantify the importance she's held in my life. She will forever be my always. I am her legacy. I am proud to see her reflection in me, in my children and my children’s children.
My mother was steadfast, determined, loyal, perceptive, independent and courageous. She was a warrior, a protector and a doer. She fiercely loved the Father and her family and friends. She’d do everything in her power to make them feel special, valued and loved.
Most know my mother’s childhood was not easy, but she was resilient. All the things she experienced in her lifetime gave her the capacity to get through tough situations. She had a strong personality and very determined views.
Momma did not give up easily and she never betrayed her values. She would not let others dictate her schedule nor would she back down from a challenge.
Momma did not let circumstances define her. She was fearless (except for mice - seriously afraid of these creatures). She was a leader, action oriented and wasn’t afraid to take charge.
She did not let the opinion of others determine her sense of identity or self worth. She wanted to be understood. She was honest and forthcoming, especially when it came to something she disagreed with or an injustice for someone who could not speak for themselves.
As I reflect upon my mother’s life, I know she will be remembered as a caring and generous person to her family and friends. As a devote Catholic and lover of Christ Jesus. I also realize the weight of the legacy she leaves behind. It is a legacy of strength, perseverance, and love amid a difficult journey.
“She made broken look beautiful and strong look invincible. She walked with the universe on her shoulders and made it look like a pair of wings.” — Ariana Dancu
I love you, Mom, forever.
I'll miss you, until we meet again. ~ Angie
