Marcella Benzing Bostic's Obituary
Marcella Benzing Bostic, 98, resident of Hawthorne, Florida, died Saturday, March 3, 2018 at her home.
Mrs. Bostic was born on October 22, 1919 in Fitzgerald, Georgia to the late Mathias and Mary Jane Benzing. She lived most of her life in Miami, where she worked as an executive secretary for many bank presidents, and later as a secretary in the construction industry. She moved from Miami to Hawthorne in 1979, where she and her husband built their home on Star Lake, and also became members of the First Baptist Church of Hawthorne. Mrs. Bostic took great pride in her yard, as anyone who knew her could see. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Adain Dewitt “A. D.” Bostic in 1995. She was also preceded in death by three grandchildren, Joel Brillhart, Lisa Levitz Poynter and Rachel Brillhart Dotson.
Survivors include; three daughters, Burma (James) Levitz, of Orange Springs, Karen (Bobby) Pelleteri, and Cindy (Jim) Brillhart, both of Hawthorne; six grandchildren, Cara, Audra, Matthew, Rebekah, Micah and Mark. Fourteen great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at 12:00 P. M., in the Chapel of Williams-Thomas Funeral Home Hawthorne, 301 South at Lake Avenue, with Pastor Chris Rose, officiating. Interment will follow in Hawthorne Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, March 9, 2018 from 5 to 7 P. M., at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to either the American Cancer Society, the American Heart Association or to the First Baptist Church of Hawthorne.
