Mable LaRue Duey's Obituary
Mable LaRue Duey, nee Wright, 87, of Gainesville, Florida, died Thursday, February 2, 2023, in the Shands Hospital at the University of Florida, of natural causes.
Mrs. Duey was born in Miami, Florida on December 16, 1935, to the late Carl Alexander and Mildred Juanita Blake Wright. She lived in Miami for many years before moving with her husband to Tallahassee and ultimately to Gainesville in 1991. LaRue was active and talented, working as a medical receptionist, enjoying sewing and flower arranging, and playing the piano. She was preceded in death by a sister, Julia Ann Sadagursky.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Paul Edwin Duey; two daughters, Laura Louise (Carl) Morse and Janet Marie (Clarke) Parker; one son, David Michael Duey; a brother, Carl Henry (Sigrid) Wright; six grandchildren, Matthew and Nathan Morse, Mason (Allison) and Reed Parker, and Ewan and Pierce Duey.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2023, at 11:00 A. M., in the Gainesville Baptist Church, 3570 NW 16th Blvd., with Pastor Brad Noble, officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Meadows Cemetery West. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 A. M.
