Mrs. Lola Mae Brown's Obituary
Lola Mae Bryan Brown, 92, of Orange Heights, went to be with her Lord on Sunday, November 24, 2013. She was born on May 1, 1921, in Orange Heights, Florida, to Charlie Bryan and Lillie Idell Kellum Bryan. She was a lifetime member of the Orange Heights Baptist Church and a Matron of the Waldo Chapter of the Eastern Star. She was loved and respected by all who knew her. Lola Mae was truly a pillar of the community.
Lola Mae is survived by her devoted husband of 73 years, Ralph Brown. Together, they established Brown’s Farm in Orange Heights, where they pioneered direct farm marketing in their family-run produce stand. She was a homemaker of the first degree, an accomplished seamstress, and a wonderful cook. Lola Mae was, above all, proud of her children, and the family was always her top priority.
Lola Mae is also survived by her four children DeWayne Brown (Sandra), Reggie Brown (Lanita), Roy Brown (Kathey), and Lola Brown Smith (Steve), eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren, and her sister, Madge Bryan Tomlinson as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers Horace, Eddie, Sydney, Otis, and Bobby Bryan.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, November 30, 2013 at 11:00 a.m., in Orange Heights Baptist Church, 16700 NE State Road 26, with Rev. Lonnie Broome officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 a.m., at the church. Interment will follow in Eliam Cemetery in Melrose. For those who wish, memorials may be made to Orange Heights Baptist Church Educational Building Fund, 16700 NE SR 26, Hawthorne, FL 32640.
