Lisa Davis Smith's Obituary
Lisa Davis Smith, age 58 of Greensboro, Georgia passed away Thursday, October 22, 2015. She was born January 21, 1957 to: G.M. and Edythe Waters Davis. She grew up in Gainesville and began dancing lessons at Pofahl Studios at a very young age.
At the age of 16 Lisa studied ballet in Stuttgart, Germany and then went on to be a professional ballerina with Pittsburg Ballet and Atlanta Ballet. After retiring from her career in ballet dancing, Lisa became a home builder and real estate broker. She was a member of First Christian Church of Atlanta, GA.
Lisa is survived by her husband, Larry E. Smith of Snellville, GA; brothers, G.M. Davis, III, and Stephen Davis both of Gainesville, FL; sister, Kay McCandless of Gainesville, FL; aunts and uncles, Ruth Davis, Charlotte Morff, Barbara Thomas, Mary Anne McKinley, Betty Waters, Jack and Robert Waters; nieces and nephews, Jill Messick, Deborah Diamond, Shelby Davis, David Jamerson, Stephen Jamerson, Jay Scofield, Bucki Davis and Corey Davis; and many loving cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, G.M. and Edythe Waters Davis and her sister, Jean Davis Scofield.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, November 14, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of WILLIAMS-THOMAS FUNERAL HOME DOWNTOWN 404 North Main Street. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will be held in McIntosh Cemetery at a later date.
