Linda Faye Sims' Obituary
Linda Faye Sims, 46, resident of Gainesville, Florida, died Wednesday, April 1, 2015, in the North Florida Regional Medical Center, following a brief illness.
Mrs. Sims was born on October 7, 1968, in Athens, Georgia; she was raised in Louisville, Georgia, and had lived most of her life in Gainesville. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. Linda will be remembered as a good hearted person who loved to give to others, and she most enjoyed being a grandmother. She was preceded in death by her father, James Arthur Smith, Sr.
She is survived by her husband of sixteen years, Joseph R. Sims; four children, Thomas Bobby Newsome, Ashley Norrine Newsome, Joseph Cory Newsome and Andrea Marie Sims; her mother, Myrtice Glover; two sisters, Martha Lamb and Tina Marsh; two brothers, James Arthur Smith, Jr., and Charles Smith, and one granddaughter, Alianna Joy Newsome.
Graveside funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 4, 2015 at 10:00 A. M., in the Laurel Hill Cemetery, Archer, Florida. The family will receive friends, Friday, April 3, 2015 from 5 to 7 P. M., at the WILLIAMS-THOMAS FUNERAL HOME WESTAREA , 823 NW 143rd Street.
