Linda C. Block's Obituary
Linda C. Block passed away peacefully on January 8, 2026, at the age of 85. Born on March 26, 1940, Linda lived a life defined by devotion to family, friendship, service, and the many interests that brought her joy.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Alan Jay Block, with whom she shared a lifetime of love and partnership.
Linda was a devoted mother to her daughters, Allison Jaffe (Paul) and Margo Cook (Tommy). She was a proud grandmother to Michael Jaffe, Erica Cook (David), and Tyler Cook (Becky), and a delighted great-grandmother to Jackson Cook, affectionately known as “the little guy.” She is also survived by her sister, Margie Pinsker (Clive); her brother-in-law, Edward Block (Joanne); and many cherished nieces and nephews.
Linda had a remarkable enthusiasm for life. She loved sewing, gourmet cooking, marathon Mahjong games, traveling, walking, reading, and spending time at the beach. She was a devoted volunteer in her community, an enthusiastic follower of her family’s sports activities, and a loyal participant in her treasured “ladies who dine” gatherings. Her home and heart were filled with basset hounds, a beloved collection of owls, and—later in life—cats, most notably Bristol, the much-adored “fat cat” who sealed her status as a cat person.
Linda will be remembered for her warmth, curiosity, humor, and unwavering love for her family and friends. Her presence enriched every room she entered, and her legacy lives on in the many lives she touched.
A celebration of life will be held on February 7, 2026, from 2-5 at Visors Rooftop – Spurriers Gridiron Grille
