Lillie Ann Green's Obituary
Lillie Ann Green, age 78, of Hawthorne,FL passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 25, 2024 at her home. She was born on November 30, 1945 in Everglades City, FL to the late Emery Dow Davis and Edrie Mae Gibson.
Ann married the love of her life, Rufus Lynn Green, on October 9, 1965 after only 6 weeks of dating. Lillie spent 15 years working at Rips Cleaners in Gainesville, although throughout her career, she was most proud of the things she accomplished at GPD as a school crossing guard and all the time she spent alongside Alachua County over the course of 20 years.
Of all the things that brought her joy in life, spending time with family was always the most important, especially getting to be with her grandkids and great grandkids.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Rufus Green of Hawthorne, FL; Teresa Carroll (Morris) of Hawthorne, FL, Stacy Carroll (Michael) of Melrose, FL, James Green (Jeannette) of Miramar, FL; Sister, Margaret Reamy, 9 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2024 at 5pm at Orange Heights Baptist Church with Pastor Aaron Morgan officiating, with fellowship to follow. Visitation will be at 4pm.
