Lillie Belle Batie "Nana"'s Obituary
Lillie Belle Batie, Nana, age 94 of Gainesville, passed away Thursday, March 8, 2018. Mrs. Batie was born March 25, 1923 in Athens, Alabama to Lee and Virginia Johnson Stewart. She retired after 28 ½ years at Shands UF Hospital as a lab technologist. In her free time, she enjoyed gardening. Nana loved God and her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, V.R. Batie and two sons, Jimmy and Cecil Batie.
She is survived by her children, Donald Batie, Billy Batie, Laura Perry, Gerold Batie, Wayne Batie, Virginia Roark, Sandra Miller and Myra Monismith and thirty-four grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Monday, March 12, 2018 at 11:00 a.m., at Orange Heights Baptist Church, 16700 SR 26 in Hawthorne, with Rev. Aaron Morgan officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park East. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 a.m., at the church.
