Laurie Schramek Riordan's Obituary
Laurie Schramek Riordan passed away on Tuesday March 24, 2026, at HCA Hospital North Florida after a brief illness.
Laurie was the oldest of six children, born in Perrysburg, Ohio on June 25, 1955, to Frank and Marda Schramek. She was raised in St. Petersburg, Florida. On Christmas Eve, 1973 she married her high school sweetheart, Kevin Riordan. They moved to Gainesville in 1975 where they would live and raise their four children.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Kevin Thomas Riordan, her father Frank Schramek and her brother Robert Schramek. She is survived by her four children; Josh Riordan (Christine) of Raleigh, North Carolina, Rose Pickens (Brian) of Gainesville, Florida, Jake Riordan (Nikki) of Lexington, Kentucky and Sarah Riordan of Gainesville, her eleven grandchildren; Wesley, Alex and Sophie Riordan, Andrew, Kate and Josie Pickens, Taylor, Harrison, Grant, CoCo and Holland Riordan, her mother; Marda Schramek and her siblings; Andy Schramek (Sue), Vicki Pickard (Rob), Steve Schramek (Kim) and Peggy McMahon (Scott).
A memorial mass will be held at Queen of Peace Catholic Church on Friday June 26th at 10 am with a reception to follow.
