Lauren Erica Mahler's Obituary
A beautiful life was lost on Thursday, March 14, 2019. Lauren Erica Mahler, 29, passed away at her home in Newberry.
Born in Cape Coral, Florida on August 11, 1989 to Duane and Linda Morris, Lauren grew up competing in dance, golf, and dressage. She graduated from Fort Myers High School, Class of 2007, before earning a Bachelor’s degree from University of Florida, and a Master’s degree from Auburn University. Lauren was actively pursuing a Veterinary degree from Ross University at the time of her passing.
In 2009 while attending the University of Florida, Lauren met the love of her life, Will Mahler. They were inseparable from the moment they met, and wed in 2012 in Cape Coral. In her free time, Lauren enjoyed fishing, running, and staying active. She was a lover of all animals, especially her dog, cats, and chickens. Above all else, Lauren was a loving wife, daughter, and friend.
Lauren is survived by her husband, Will Mahler; parents, Duane and Linda Morris; sisters, Teresa Morris Duree and Nicole Morris; nieces, Delaney Sirois-Morris and Austin Oates; nephew, Nathan Oates; uncle, Douglas Bors and aunt, Eva Bors; as well as many extended family members and friends.
A Celebration of Life is scheduled for 11:00 am on Wednesday, March 20th at Abundant Grace Community Church in Gainesville. Senior Pastor Phil Courson will be leading the service. Lauren’s final resting place will be Royal Palms Memorial Gardens in Punta Gorda. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Mill Creek Farm – a retirement home for horses in Alachua, P.O. Box 2100, Alachua, FL 32616, or Cape Coral Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 235, 1217 Cape Coral Pkwy., Cape Coral, FL 33904.
