Larry Gene Weldon's Obituary
Larry Gene Weldon, 85, went to his Heavenly Home on September 19, 2025. He was born May 31, 1940, in Wahoo, Sumter County, Florida as the second child of Woodrow Wilson and Irene (Pitzer) Weldon.
Larry spent most of his working life as an air-condition /refrigeration mechanic. He retired from the University of Florida in June 2002.
Larry loved spending time with his family, camping, traveling, spending time at the beach, watching football games and car racing. He loved the outside and took pride in his yards and having a clean shiny car.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his first wife, Salatha Miles, a son, Larry Gene Weldon Il; a daughter, Lisa (Riddles) Guerra; infant sister, Paulette Weldon, two brothers, Lester Weldon, Baxley, GA and Johnny Weldon, Micanopy, FL, one niece, Anastasha DeLisi, one sister-in-law, Diann (Lewis) Warner and one brother-in-law, Mike Riebold.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Mary Carolyn (Lewis) Weldon; three daughters, Angela (Weldon) Perry (Jeff); Teresa (Riddles) Robinett (Mike) and Angela Riddles; a son, Aaron Weldon (Isa); a sister, Patricia Musgrove (Bobby), Millwood, GA; four brothers; Woodrow Wilson Weldon, Jr., Crestview, FL; Ronnie Weldon (Jackie), Statesboro, GA; Robert Wayne Weldon, Greenville, FL; Curtis Weldon (Susan), Newberry, FL; four sisters-in-law; Geraldine Weldon (widow of Lester), Baxley, GA; Gail Weldon (widow of Johnny), Micanopy, FL; Pat (Lewis) Turley (Joe), Pace, FL, Robin (Lewis) Riebold, Cantonment, FL , and one brother-in-law, Kirk Warner, Cottonwood, AZ, eleven grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, September 25, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. Williams-Thomas Downtown Chapel, 404 North Main Street.
Interment will be in the Military Section of Forest Meadows Cemetery East, Gainesville, FL.
