L. Scott Grant's Obituary
L. Scott Grant age 80, passed away at his home Friday, July 19, 2019 after a short illness. Scott was born in Fernandina Beach, FL on September 19, 1938 to Loice Scott Grant Sr. and Edna Mae Hunter. He graduated from Fernandina Beach High School in 1958.
After a short career at the pulp mill in Fernandina, he entered the United States Army where he served in the military police that led to a law enforcement career until 1977. At that time he began his Department of Transportation retiring in 1997.
After his discharge from the Army in Virginia, he met and married his wife, Priscilla. They have been married for 53 years. After several years in Virginia he returned to Florida with his family.
Mr. Grant is survived by his wife, Priscilla; two sons, Mark David and William Charles, and one grandson, Alexander Scott Grant. He was preceded in death by his parents and granddaughter, Rebecca.
A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of WILLIAMS-THOMAS FUNERAL HOME WESTAREA, 823 NW 143rd Street, with Rev. Jim Riley officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Central, 4100 NW 39th Avenue. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 a.m.
