Kirk was kind, generous, smart, and funny.
When Ginny and I visited Kate and Kirk in 2018, we were graciously hosted and taken to see many fascinating nature areas. Kirk knew so much about these areas, why they were geologically there and the wildlife. He clearly loved nature.
I will always remember that visit, his knowledge, and his sense of humor.

We'll never forget the night we were invited to dinner with other friends. There were thousands of spadefoot toads all over the yard, but Kirk had put down wood walkways to help us avoid stepping on them! A real testament to the gentle soul he was. He will be missed. Howard and Lisa Jelks
