Kenneth Clyde Bryant's Obituary
Kenneth Clyde Bryant left this earth for his heavenly home on September 18, 2024. Clyde was born in Jasper, Florida on November 20, 1942, to James W. and Retha V. Bryant. His family later moved to Jacksonville, FL where he grew up in the Paxon/Woodstock Park area. He graduated from Paxon Sr. High School in the class of 1960 and afterward served in the FL National Guard. While in high school he completed requirements for his state of Florida Barber’s License and maintained licensure for the rest of his life. After graduation Clyde went to work for CSX in Jacksonville and retired after 35 years. He then moved to his farm in Branford, FL to enjoy life. He was an active member at Mt. Nebo Baptist Church and was very diligent in his faith.
He is survived by his sons, James E. (Tracy) Bryant of Alachua, FL and Kenneth C. (Sharon) Bryant of Canton, MS; six grandchildren, Michael (Lindsay), J.D. (Laura), Meghan (Michael), Courtney (Fabio), Lydia and Cason; 3 great grandchildren, Sam, Caroline, and Brooks; one brother, James E. Bryant of St Augustine, FL and one sister Judy Gneisig of Hilliard, FL. He was predeceased by his wife Carol B. Bryant, daughter Lydia Ann Bryant and brother Donald R. Bryant.
Clyde was a good husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He enjoyed spending time with his family and quietly set a positive example for his children and grandchildren to follow in life. His love of family led to a keen interest in genealogy, and he spent a great deal of time and effort to research and map his family tree. He was a do-it-yourself and do-it-the-right-way type of person and could fix or build anything he set his mind to. Clyde was also an avid sports fan with an emphasis on all Florida Gator sports, the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Boston Red Sox. He took great pride in being on the Season Ticket Member Wall of Fame with the Jaguars as a Founder. Clyde will be greatly missed by his family and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 24, 2024, 10:00 A.M. at Mt. Nebo Baptist Church, 4200 CR 340 Bell, FL with Bro. Gene Harris officiating. Interment will follow at 3:00 P.M. at Riverside Memorial Park, 7242 Normandy Blvd. Jacksonville, FL.
