Katie L. Shafer's Obituary
Katie L. Shafer was born on June 23, 1930 in Elizabethtown, North Carolina. She went to be with the Lord on February 3, 2024.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Russell Shafer, her son, Glenn Hopson Jr., and her daughter Cynthia Hopson.
She is survived by her daughters, Cecilia Fair (Philip) and Anne Sepulveda (Clement); her grandchildren Joel Fair, Benjamin Fair, Deborah Adkins (John) Daniel Fair, Jonathan Fair, David Hopson, Karen Hopson, Selena Campbell (Eric), Megan Brown (Bryan); her great-grandchildren Callie Brown, Seth Brown, and Eleanor Fair.
Mother loved the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal Savior. She enjoyed serving the Lord as a Sunday School teacher and Preschool Director at Hawthorne First Baptist Church. Later in life she attended and served at Orange Heights Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 8, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Orange Heights Baptist Church, 16700 NE SR 26 Hawthorne, FL. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 10:00 a.m. Committal will be at the Hawthorne Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, she requested donations be sent to Orange Heights Baptist Church for the building fund in her memory.
