Kathryn Raulerson's Obituary
The family of Kathryn Kelly Raulerson announces her passing on October 4th, 2024, peacefully surrounded by family at Haven Hospice in Gainesville, Florida.
Kathryn was born in Bradford County, Florida on March 23, 1936. A proud graduate of Bradford High School in 1954, she then attended the University of Florida where she became a member of Alpha Omicron Pi sorority. During her time at the university, she met her future husband, Jim Raulerson, and they married on June 18th, 1956.
Kathryn was an avid Gator fan and enjoyed reading, traveling, hiking, but most of all, she cherished time spent with her family. She worked as a database clerk at Mebane Middle School and continued to volunteer after her retirement. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Alachua, where she was actively involved in senior activities and built many loving connections with her church family. Kathryn had a special talent for making holidays memorable, decorating and cooking with the utmost attention to every detail.
Kathryn is survived by sons Kelly (Dale) Raulerson, Samuel (Beth) Raulerson, Joseph (Ann) Raulerson, and Jason (Stacey) Raulerson; grandchildren, Deanna, Katie (Matt) Thompson, Tyler (Kylee) Raulerson, Mike (Faith) Raulerson, Hailey, Kealy, and Alyssa; great-grandchildren, Norah Kate, Grant, Kaden, Vance, Hadlee, Weston, and Maren; and brothers Robert Kelly and Ron Kelly.
Kathryn is preceded in death by her husband, James Hardy “Jim” Raulerson, her parents James Robert “J.R.” Kelly and Alice Marie Driggers Kelly, brother Roger Allen Kelly, and sister Peggy Ann Kelly.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, October 15th, at First Baptist Church of Alachua with visitation at 10:00am and service at 11:00am. Followed by a graveside service at Antioch Baptist Church.
