Katherine "Kathy" Emogene Pons' Obituary
Katherine "Kathy" Emogene Pons, 72 of Gainesville, FL. passed quietly Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at home with family by her side.
She has spent her whole life in Gainesville "WINDSOR" helping raise her 11 nieces and nephews, 33 great nieces and nephews and 1 great- great nephew. She was a second mom to all of us, and a matriarch of the family. She was one of the most caring and sweetest people you have ever met.
She loved the color purple, watching hummingbirds and butterflies, helping others, cooking way too much food, reading, writing down recipes, making coke floats, and Publix subs.
She spent a good portion of her life working for and retired from GE as a battery assembler.
These last few years she spent taking care of her sister’s critters and plants.
Katherine was preceded in death by her Father; Albert Pons, Mother Betty Pons, Brothers; Nathan and Charley Pons, Sister; Shelia Pons, Brother-in-law; Daniel Killebrew, Sister-in-law; Beth Pons, and Niece; Lydia Pons.
She is survived by Brothers James Pons, Phillip (Susan) Pons , Faron (Elizabeth) Pons, Sister Shirley Killebrew, and all those Nieces and Nephews she has helped raise.
The family will receive friends, Tuesday, January 5, 2021, from 11:00-12:00PM at Williams-Thomas Hawthorne, US HWY 301 S. & Lake Ave. Burial will follow at Providence Cemetery, Windsor at 12:30PM. Following the graveside service, friends are invited to join Kathy’s family for a gathering and meal at Windsor Park (Owen Illinois Park) by Newnan’s Lake. Please bring a dish to share.
