I worked with Karl at his most recent job at the Gateway Grand. I never saw him upset, he radiated happiness and never missed a chance to tell us how much he valued our team. We will miss him forever.
Sincere condolences to Kelli and Kaitlyn. We were neighbors of Karl and shared a love of golden retrievers. I would often encounter Karl at night while I was walking our dog, Tessa. Karl would be outside his house with his golden, Bear, and sometimes Henry. Karl was always an interesting conversationalist and professed a warm heart. I was amazed at his accomplishments, particularly in regard to the University of Florida community. He had just purchased a beautiful red Corvette which he kept in immaculate condition. Karl will be sorely missed in our neighborhood. Peace, brother.
Karl was one of the few that gave and gave and gave again. A little over a year ago, I asked him to reconnect with the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity at the University of Florida. He did and the benefits to both the active students and the alumni is all but immeasurable. He was selected as the best fraternity advisor for 2023 by the University Fraternity Council. He was the behind the scene, cheerleader and organizer for the 90th anniversary celebration and reunion for LXA chapter on the UoF. More than 200 alumni attended the week end event. Brothers traveled great distances, contributed more than $100,000 and reconnected with friends that had not seen in decades. Participates ranged in age from 18 to 79 and everyone went home with a lifetime of memories. RIP Karl.
