Karen Smith Schuler's Obituary
Karen Smith Schuler passed away peacefully on Friday July 25, 2026, at home in Gainesville, Florida. She was born February 1, 1946, in Los Angeles, California to Burney and Jessie Chandler.
From the time she was young, Karen could be found outside riding or taking care of her horses. She carried her love of animals throughout her life, always having pets or livestock. Besides being a small business owner, she also spent her time growing a beautiful garden wherever she lived. She left a lasting impact on all who met her and will be remembered for her faith, love, and generosity.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Phillip Barry Smith, with whom she shared 25 wonderful years of marriage and her second son Micheal Joseph Smith.
She is survived by her loving husband of 33 years, Marvin Ray Schuler; her son, Phillip Barry Smith Jr. (Melinda); daughter, Tiffany Marie Adams (James); stepsons Joseph David Schuler (Christine); David Willhelm Schuler (Meredith); Daniel Joseph Schuler (Sarah); grandchildren Phillip Barry Smith III (Ashlee); Florence Francis Skipper (Timothy); Joshua Allen Smith (Kelly); Christina Marie Dyerly (Kyle); Olivia Karen Soncrant; Chloe Marie Barrow (Zachary); Madison Teresa Adams; Anthony Joshua Cash (Taylor); Joseph Daniel Schuler; Alyssa Christine Schuler; Summer Rain Schuler; Dawson Mitchell Schuler; Savannah Kay Schuler; Brandon Daniel Schuler; Camryn David Schuler; Emily Nicole Schuler; and 12+ great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
