Karen Mathilda Olson Reymond's Obituary
Karen Mathilda Olson Reymond, age 78 of Gainesville, Florida passed away Thursday, March 4, 2021. She was born October 29, 1942 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Walter John Reinhold Olson and Clara Mathilda Koehler Olson.
She met her husband, Bruce Reymond while they were teaching at Stanton High School in Jacksonville. Mrs. Reymond enjoyed gardening, reading and music and she loved to draw. She used to be an avid walker and was so proud the year she walked a thousand miles.
Mrs. Reymond is survived by daughter, M. Christina Geiger and husband Sean; brother, Walter John Olson (Sally); brother-in-law, Rev. Paul Haffly; nieces, Elizabeth Christine Olson, Johanna Welch (Skip); nephews, David Haffly and Stephen Haffly (Cynthia Gillon) and several great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded by her husband, Bruce and sister, Mary Christine Olson Haffly.
A Funeral Service will be held Saturday, March 13, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 3976 Hendricks Ave, Jacksonville, FL 32207 with Pastor Daniel Locke officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or plant a tree in her memory.
