Justin Scott Peters' Obituary
Justin Scott Peters, 31, of Gainesville, Florida passed away on March 19, 2025. He was born on February 25, 1994, in Gainesville, Florida to Carl and Vicki Ferguson Peters.
He grew up and attended school in Gainesville, Florida and attended Santa Fe College, where he planned on finishing his degree in Digital Media.
Justin loved sports and was very athletic. He played soccer, basketball, football, and lacrosse. He also loved to snowboard, sail, surf, hike, go whitewater rafting and zip-lining. He lived life to the fullest and loved adventure. He loved the Florida Gators and the Tampa Bay Lightning hockey team.
Justin was a self-taught musician, comedian, photographer, and artist. He loved making movies/clips and taking pictures of his journey. He loved to play the guitar and perform songs that he wrote.
Justin loved his friends and family and was always willing to help. He had a very big and loving heart. He was the proud uncle of Emilia, 2, and Sophie, 7 weeks, Peters, Bentley Stroud, 12, Brady, 6, and Bryson, 2, Metzler.
Justin is preceded in death by his grandparents, Charles and Barbara Schneider Ferguson. He is survived by his parents, Carl and Vicki Ferguson Peters; brothers Brad Metzler ( Bri) and Brian ( Belinda), nephews Bentley Stroud, 12, Brady Metzler, 6, Bryson Metzler, 2, and nieces Emilia Peters, 2, and Sophie Peters, 7 weeks. He is also survived by his cat, Snickers, and dogs, Emma and Cocoa.
Celebration of Life in Justin’s honor will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Williams-Thomas Westarea Chapel, 823 NW 143rd St. Newberry, Florida, with Dr. Don McGarity officiating. Interment at Countryside Cemetery, 10926 NW 39th Avenue Gainesville, Florida, will follow immediately after the service. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service.
