Julia Anne "Judy" McCoy Mace's Obituary
Julia Anne “Judy” McCoy Mace, age 78 of Gainesville, passed away Monday, May 7, 2018 in North Florida Regional Medical Center. Judy was born June 7, 1939 in Arcadia, California to James Glenn and Julia Ekman McCoy.
Judy was a graduate of the University of Arizona. She worked as the director of the American Cancer Society Hope Lodge. She was a member of the Gainesville Garden Club and former member of University Women’s Club and a volunteer at many agencies in town. Judy was a member of Celebration United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Mace Rogers (John) of St. Paul, MN; son, Brad Mace (Paige) of Gainesville, FL; grandchildren, Julia Anne Rogers, Kathleen Elizabeth Rogers, Brennan Clay Mace, Abigail Jamie Marie Mace and Gavin Lee Halberstadt and great grandson, James Andrew Hansen. She was preceded in death by her brother, James “Jim” McCoy.
A Celebration of Judy’s Life will be held Saturday, May 12, 2018 at 10:00 a.m., at Celebration United Methodist Church, 9501 SW Archer Road, with Rev. Melissa Pisco officiating. A reception will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make memorials to Food 4 Kids Backpack Program, at http://www.food4kidsfl.org, in memory of Judy Mace.
