Judith Mattair Sanders' Obituary
Judith Mattair Sanders died Friday, July 28th, 2023 at Haven Hospice in Gainesville, Florida. She was 82.
Judy was born in Gainesville and lived most of her life there. After being raised by her grandparents and graduating from Gainesville High School, she went on to a varied work life: secretary, medical technician, dental assistant, registered nurse, office manager. During all of the time she was also a homemaker and mother. She enthusiastically joined in all kinds of hobbies – horseback riding, puppetry, doll making, ham radio operation, motorcycle riding, and geneology, among other things. Animals always took up a part of her life, and they loved her just as much. Judy took great joy and care in her family, always adding another member to her flock/people/folk/clan with her constant contact, calling on the phone, or just living her life, day to day.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Sandy K Sanders of Gainesville, her sons John H Wilson of Leesburg, Virginia, and Sandy K Sanders Jr of Jacksonville, and her grandson Gabriel Ian Wilson of Leesburg, Virginia.
A memorial service will be at Grace at Fort Clarke church on Saturday, August 5, 2023 at 10am, with a reception afterwards. Internment will follow at Orange Hill Cemetery in Williston.
