Judith Ann Baker's Obituary
Judith Ann Baker (Judi) passed away peacefully on June 22, 2018 at age 75 surrounded by her family after a short but courageous battle with Glioblastoma brain cancer.
She is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, H. Milton Baker; daughters, Deborah McGill Smith (John), Stephanie Baker Ray (Charles); sons, Bobby McGill, Scott Baker (Kate), and Brett Baker (Jessica); seven grandchildren, Noel, Nicholas, and Ryan Ray, Cole and Lana Baker, Sadie Smith, Anxley Babilonia, and sister, Trudi Brown.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold Henry and Betty Jean Brown, brother, Larry Martin Brown, and sister, Betty Claire Swartz.
Judi was employed by the Alachua County Retired Senior Volunteer Program for 13 years. In 1987, she changed careers and became a realtor for Coldwell Banker M.M Parrish for 20 years prior to her retirement. Judi loved her career as a realtor, was very client focused which led to many successful years. She was awarded "Rookie of the Year" and "Realtor of the Year" honors by the Gainesville Board of Realtors. Judi was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Alachua for over 40 years where she served in multiple leadership roles including terms as an Elder.
Judi enjoyed traveling, fishing, crocheting, Gator football, basketball, baseball and gymnastics and was a season ticket holder for decades in these sports. Judi most especially cherished her annual vacations with all of her family at Siesta Key. Judi also enjoyed various book and social clubs with the women in her neighborhood at Turkey Creek.
The family will hold a private service to celebrate her life. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her honor to the First Presbyterian Church of Alachua, PO Box 308, Alachua, FL 32615.
The family would like to thank the many doctors, nurses and caregivers that cared and loved for Judi during her illness.
