Juanita Townsend, Crawford, Conyers, Frazier of Gainesville, Fl, passed away on October 23, 2021 of natural causes. She was 93 years young.
Juanita, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother was the daughter of Virgil Light Townsend and Eugenia Chaires Townsend. She is preceded in death by her parents as well as daughter, Donna Maher; son, Robert Conyers; and brother, Virgil Townsend (Carol).
Juanita is survived by her sister, Iris Stackpole (Roy); daughters, Karen Dodds, Tina Johnson and Cardie Dielschneider (Jim); grandsons, Andy Shivers and Michael Lanoue; granddaughters, Renee Hopper (Nick); Christy Blackwell; Amy Volker (Jim); Dawn Phillips (Clive) and, Diane Jorgensen (Peter). She is also survived by 9 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren and too many nieces and nephews to count!
Juanita was raised in Gainesville, FL then traveled the world during her marriages, enjoying life, raising children and enhancing the lives of everyone who had the chance to know her. Juanita loved reading, gardening, and making new friends. She never met a stranger. Juanita settled back in Gainesville, FL and was a talented ceramist who ran Frazier Ceramics for almost 40 years. She loved sharing her gift of gab, zest for life and artistic expertise with everyone. Everyone who met or knew Juanita will tell you their lives are forever graced and blessed. She may be gone from this earth but will never leave our hearts.
Graveside service will be held Saturday, October 30, 2021, at 1:30 PM in Townsend Cemetery, 17655 SE 49th Place, Hawthorne, FL with Dr. Don McGarity officiating. The family requests those who wish to express sympathy to consider making a donation to Helping Hands Clinic Gainesville FL https://hhclinicgnv.org/ (or their favorite charity) in Juanita’s name.
