Juana Ramos' Obituary
Juana Ramos, 93, of Gainesville, Florida, passed away on Thursday, August 8, 2019 at her home, following a long illness.
Mrs. Ramos was born on October 6, 1925, one of 10 children in Trujillo Alto, Puerto Rico. She moved to upstate New York in 1947 and the next year was married to Mr. Ramon Ramos. Together they raised a family of 6 children and after her children were self-sufficient, she went to start her own career as a dietician for the State of New York. Mrs. Ramos moved to Florida in 1985 and then to Gainesville in 2015. She was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness in Gainesville. Mrs. Ramos was preceded in death by a son, David Ramos.
She is survived by her husband of nearly 71 years, Ramon Ramos, 100 years of age; four daughters, Carmen Ramos, Vilma Gleiberman, Joanna Clavell, and Diana Ramos Alfonso; one son, Mark Anthony Ramos. Nine grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren also survive.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 3780 NW 16th Blvd., Gainesville. The family will receive friends at a gathering in her honor at the Williams-Thomas Funeral Home Downtown, 404 North Main Street, Gainesville on Friday, August 16, 2019 from 5 to 7 P. M. In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to Haven Hospice, 4200 NW 90th Blvd., Gainesville, FL 32606.
