Joyce Anne Schubert's Obituary
Joyce Anne Schubert, loving wife and mother died February 2nd, 2021 in her apartment in Gainesville Florida.
Joyce was born in Williamsburg Ohio August 31st, 1939 to Cora and Paul Emrick. She married Walter Schubert in October 1959 and raised five boys while living in Meadville Pennsylvania. Joyce was always willing to give a helping hand where she could. After the death of her husband, she lived alone and donated her time to Meals on Wheels, hand delivering food to other seniors in her apartment building. Even after being diagnosed with dementia and moving to an assisted living arrangement, she was always eager to help other residents where she could. The people who cared for her would often mention to me how gentle and unassuming she was even when her illness was taking her memories from her. She contracted dementia at an early age, but she was still able to teach me the value of family and friends, and the joy of helping others in the last years of her life. Though Joyce lived what many would consider to be an ordinary life, she did it with grace and generosity. She will be missed.
Joyce is survived by her sister Patricia and her sons Stanley, Steven, James, and Scott. She was preceded in death by her husband Walter and her son David. No service will be held. Donations may be sent to Meals on Wheelshttps://www.mealsonwheelsamerica.org/ or the Dementia Society of America https://dementiasociety.charityproud.org/donate.
